The Lexington Soil and Water Conservation District is conducting a rain barrel workshop for the public at which participants will make a rain barrel to take home to harvest rain water for use during dry weather to water plants, wash the car, clean tools, and almost anything except drinking. The workshop will be held under a shelter at Gibson Pond, 214 Gibson Road in Lexington SC on Thursday, August 31, from 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 p.m.
The cost for all materials to make one rain barrel is only $25.00. Participants must bring a vehicle that can transport a 55-gallon barrel that they will take home with them after the workshop. Space is limited to the first 12 paid participants.
